Observing
There unfortunately is a thing called being too attached to your own suffering. I had imagined it to be insidious: taking over your life and forcing you to be miserable and burdened always. That imaginary thing sounded so bad that it felt unreal.
Now, I think it can be different. It can be something as cruel as just knowing how to be and who to be outside of things that cause pain. It feels horrible but at least you know who you are and how to manage yourself inside of it.
